The best of both: polycarbonate strength & heat resistance + ABS toughness & printability. 3DTrcek PC-ABS delivers impact-tough, heat-ready (~102–113 °C) parts with a smooth, paint/plate-ready finish. Engineered in Slovenia.
PC-ABS blends PC strength with ABS toughness for brackets, fixtures, housings, and tools that last.
Withstands elevated temps (car interiors, near motors) where PLA/PETG soften or deform.
Reduced shrink vs. ABS; better flatness and dimensional stability on large parts with an enclosure.
Clean surface straight off the bed; sands, paints, and electroplates for showroom-ready prototypes.
Optimized interlayer bonding for tough Z-axis performance and fewer layer-split failures.
Dialed slicer profiles; prints reliably on enclosed desktops and prosumer machines.
Compared to standard ABS, PC-ABS delivers higher heat resistance, stronger parts, and a smoother finish — with less warping and better dimensional stability.
Note: Results depend on part design and settings. For best flatness and layer bond on large parts, use an enclosure or heated chamber and follow our print guide.
Print parts that work in the real world — heat-resistant, impact-tough, and dimensionally stable.
Key characteristics of PC-ABS — engineered for heat resistance, impact toughness, strong layer bonding, and a smooth, post-processable surface.
PC-ABS is an engineering-grade blend. Review these guidelines for best strength, flatness, and surface quality.
Print at high temps to unlock properties: nozzle ~260–280 °C (tune per hotend). Brass nozzles are fine (no fibers).
Use a 100–110 °C bed on textured PEI or similar. Light glue-stick/adhesive helps on large footprints.
Strongly recommended for large/flat parts. A 50–70 °C chamber improves layer adhesion and reduces warp.
Minimal part cooling (0–20%) for strength. Moderate speeds improve interlayer bond and surface consistency.
Styrene-based blend can emit fumes. Print in an enclosed, ventilated setup or with filtration.
Use a 5–10 mm brim/raft on big parts. Add fillets/chamfers to corners; consider ribs to boost stiffness without mass.
3DTrcek filaments are manufactured to the highest engineering standards — for makers, designers, and those who demand perfection.

PC-ABS blends polycarbonate strength with ABS toughness. For best results, print hot with minimal cooling and in an enclosure for larger/flat parts. Use a 5–10 mm brim and a light glue-stick/adhesive on PEI for extra hold. Provide ventilation as with any styrene-based material.
These values are proven starting points for PC-ABS. Printers vary — feel free to tune outside these ranges for your specific setup, part geometry, and desired strength/finish.
Everything you need to know about PC-ABS
Typical application window is about ~102–113 °C depending on part geometry and print settings. Ideal for car interiors, near motors, and other warm environments where PLA/PETG deform.
Less than standard ABS, especially with an enclosure. PC-ABS shows reduced shrinkage and stronger interlayer bonding. For large, flat parts, use a brim and keep the chamber warm for best results.
An enclosure is strongly recommended for dimensional stability and layer adhesion on bigger prints. As a styrene-based blend, ensure ventilation/filtration when possible.
Yes — stable diameter and tidy winding make it suitable for Bambu AMS and other multi-spool systems. For best results with PC-ABS, print in an enclosed machine (e.g., X1/P1 with door/cover).
A smooth, professional finish that sands well. PC-ABS is paint-ready and compatible with electroplating workflows for metal-look prototypes. Minimal part cooling improves surface consistency.
No — PC-ABS is not fiber-filled. A brass nozzle is fine. We recommend an all-metal hotend for sustained 260–285 °C temperatures.
Store sealed with desiccant. If exposed to humidity (stringing, popping), dry at ~65 °C for 4–6 hours. Proper storage improves surface quality and layer adhesion.
Use generous fillets/chamfers on corners, optimize wall count (3–5 walls), and align layer lines with load paths. Keep cooling low and ensure adequate per-layer time for consistent bonding.
