ASA Filaments for 3D Printing: UV-Resistant, Weatherproof, Professional-Grade

ASA (Acrylonitrile Styrene Acrylate) filament is the industry’s favorite alternative to ABS—offering superior UV resistance, weather durability, and thermal stability. Perfect for engineers, product designers, and manufacturers creating outdoor parts, technical enclosures, and robust prototypes.

What Is ASA Filament?

  • ASA is a high-performance thermoplastic engineered to withstand prolonged UV exposure, moisture, and mechanical stress.
  • Originally developed for automotive use, it is now widely used for 3D printed outdoor parts, technical housings, and structural components.
  • It offers better weatherability than ABS, with lower yellowing, less warping, and improved dimensional stability.

Why Engineers & Professionals Choose ASA

  • UV & Weather Resistance: Excellent color retention and strength outdoors—ideal for signage, tools, and functional parts.
  • High Strength & Impact Resistance: Stronger than PLA and PETG, suitable for mechanical loads and end-use parts.
  • Thermal Stability: Softening point above 95 °C—suitable for outdoor heat exposure or engine-adjacent use.
  • Clean Surface Finish: Matte look with reduced layer lines and strong layer adhesion.

Recommended Print Settings

  • Nozzle Temperature: 240–260 °C
  • Bed Temperature: 90–110 °C
  • Chamber: Recommended for large parts (enclosed printer or draft shield)
  • Cooling: Low or disabled for best layer bonding
  • Drying: 80 °C for 4–6 hours before use

Applications

  • Outdoor enclosures and casings
  • Automotive parts and dashboard components
  • Tools, brackets, and technical prototypes
  • Weather-exposed signage and equipment mounts
