PCTG filaments

PCTG Filament for 3D Printing: Stronger, Tougher, Clearer

PCTG is an industrial-grade copolyester filament engineered for users who need more impact resistance, chemical durability, and dimensional stability than PETG—without sacrificing printability. This category is built for designers, engineers, architects, and high-performance makers looking for reliable, professional results on everyday FDM printers.

What Is PCTG Filament?

  • PCTG stands for PolyCyclohexylene Dimethylene Terephthalate Glycol — a modified form of PET-G with improved mechanical toughness and impact resistance.
  • It is amorphous, which means it has excellent dimensional stability and minimal shrinkage. No warping. No enclosure needed.
  • It bridges the gap between PETG and more technical filaments like PC or ABS, offering strength, clarity, and ease-of-use.

Why Engineers & Professionals Choose PCTG

  • High Impact Resistance: Up to 20x stronger than PLA and tougher than PETG — ideal for brackets, load-bearing parts, and fixtures.
  • Excellent Chemical Resistance: PCTG resists alcohols, acids, oils, and cleaning agents — used in medical, food, and lab environments.
  • Print Clarity & Finish: Available in crystal-clear or solid-colored variants for visual models and product enclosures.
  • Stable, Easy Printing: Low warping and high dimensional accuracy, even on open-frame printers.

Recommended Print Settings

  • Nozzle Temp: 240–270 °C
  • Bed Temp: 80–100 °C (PEI/glass bed + glue stick recommended)
  • Speed: 40–80 mm/s
  • Retraction: 0.6 mm @ 35 mm/s
  • Drying: 65 °C for 4–6 hours before printing

Applications

  • Prototypes and functional parts requiring high toughness
  • Jigs, brackets, fixtures, and machine enclosures
  • Clear covers, bottles, housings, and packaging
  • Electronics, automotive, and industrial use cases

Who It’s For

  • Engineers who need strong, chemical-resistant prints for structural testing
  • Architects who want crystal-clear, layer-free models with high dimensional accuracy
  • Designers building end-use enclosures or translucent concept models
  • Makers tired of breaking parts printed in PETG or PLA
