Popular among thousands of creators for its reliable quality. Made in Slovenia, with over 10 years of experience in 3D filament manufacturing and 45 years in plastic processing. HIPS filament is known as a support material for ABS and ASA but also has properties that make it suitable for standalone use.
HIPS is known for dissolving in d-limonene, making it an ideal support material for printing with ABS and ASA filaments. While it doesn't have the best mechanical properties on its own, it boasts good impact strength. Due to its low density and ease of post-processing, it is also popular among model makers.
HIPS filament can shrink and warp during printing, but not to the extent of ABS and ASA. As a support material for those filaments, it prints at similar temperatures. Because it contains styrene, it is advisable to print in a closed chamber and in a well-ventilated area.
Precise mechanical winding and thorough inspection ensure that the filaments do not tangle. Each spool is vacuum-packed with a desiccant within 5 minutes of production, ensuring long-lasting quality. The filament contains no recycled material, ensuring a stable diameter of 1.75mm +/- 0.03 mm and minimal ovality.
HIPS is fairly easy to print, but it can be printed at higher temperatures, therefore a full-metal hot end is recommended. Due to the gases released during printing, using a closed chamber and ventilation or an air filtration system is advisable. With over 10 years of experience in developing 3D filaments, 3DTrček produces only the best HIPS filaments, ensuring exceptional results on all popular FDM printers, such as Bambu Lab, Creality, Prusa, Anycubic, Elegoo, etc.
HIPS boasts good thermal resistance, withstanding temperatures up to 100°C. It has good impact strength and stiffness but at the cost of low tensile strength. It is resistant to water, oils, and greases, but is not UV-resistant and will deteriorate if left in the sun.

HIPS, like ABS and ASA, can be post-processed with acetone vapors to achieve a smooth, shiny surface. It is also popular among mini-figure makers as it can be easily sanded and painted with acrylic paint.
Store 3DTrcek HIPS filament in a dry, dark place in an airtight bag with desiccant at temperatures between 0°C and 40°C. HIPS barely absorbs moisture, but it is always advisable to keep filaments dry. After an extended storage period dry it in a filament dryer at 60°C for 2-6 hours before use.
Available in 50g, 400g, 1kg, 2,1kg, 5kg, and 10kg spools. Contact us at [email protected] for orders of the larger spools in specific colors.

HIPS is less demanding to print, but it prints under similar conditions as ABS and ASA. We recommend using a full-metal hot end and an enclosed chamber to help with potential warping and gases produced during printing.

Yes, the filaments are compatible with all popular FDM printers and the Bambu Lab AMS system.
Due to the gases released during printing, it is advisable to use a closed chamber and print in a well-ventilated space.
We currently do not have the technology for recycling, but we are working to make this possible in the near future.
