From pellets to spool – all under one roof
In Ljubljana, we bring together compounding, extrusion, winding and quality control. In-house production allows us to control the material composition and track each batch from raw material to packaged spool.
How our filament is made
- Raw material selectionWe start with proven polymers. Each filament batch can be traced back to the compound batch it was made from.
- DryingWe dry the material before processing because moisture causes bubbles, brittleness and an uneven diameter.
- CompoundingWe mix the polymer with colourants, additives or fillers using our own formulation. This is where we create colours, matte and silk effects, and reinforced materials such as ASA-CF.
- ExtrusionThe melt passes through a die and a cooling bath. A laser gauge continuously measures diameter and ovality. Filament outside the ±0.03 mm tolerance does not go onto a spool.
- WindingWe wind under controlled tension and inspect every spool to support smooth unwinding during printing.
- Quality controlWe test-print every batch on our production printers, compare the colour with a reference spool and check moisture content before packaging.
- PackagingShortly after extrusion, we seal the spool in a vacuum bag with desiccant. The label lists the material, colour, diameter, net weight and batch.
How we control quality
- Diameter tolerance±0.03 mm for 1.75 mm and 2.85 mm
- Diameter and ovalitycontinuous laser measurement on the production line
- Traceabilitythe batch on the label links to the compound batch; an unopened spool has a shelf life of 24 months
- Every batch is test-printed; we develop materials on Bambu Lab, Prusa, Creality, Anycubic and Elegoo printers
The materials we make
Our range includes four material families. PLA: PLA, PLA Matte, PLA Matte HS, HTPRO-PLA, Silk, Wood, PLA CF, Lithophane and Recycled PLA. PETG and PCTG: PETG, PET-G Matte, PCTG, PCTG Matte, PETG CF and Recycled PETG. ABS and ASA: ABS Plus, ABS FR V0, ABS GF, ABS ESD, PC-ABS UL94 V0, ASA Plus and ASA CF. Technical materials: TPU 90A, TPU CF Flex, Nylon PA-12, PAHT CF, ESD HIPS, HIPS and PVA. For each range, we provide a technical data sheet with mechanical and thermal values, test methods and a recommended starting profile.
Why it matters for your prints
A consistent diameter means a consistent flow. Dry material means less stringing and fewer bubbles. Batch traceability helps us with repeat orders and technical enquiries. These are differences you can see in the printed part.
