ABS Flame Retardant V0 filament is a certified self-extinguishing filament that maintains macehaical properties comparable with of standard ABS filament.
3DTrcek ABS Flame Retardant V0 filament is made from base material with UL94 V-0 certification. This makes it the right choice for products that will be in proximity of open flame, potential fire hazards and electronics.
The test consists of sequentially heating 5 standard samples of the chosen material. The samples, oriented vertically, are exposed to an open flame twice for 10 seconds each time, after which the time it takes for the sample to stop burning is measured. The test is repeated on all 5 samples. For UL94 V-0 certification, the burning time of each sample must not exceed 10 seconds after each ignition, the total burning and glowing time for all samples must not exceed 50 seconds, no flaming drips may ignite the cotton indicator placed under the sample, and glowing must not last more than 30 seconds after the second flame application.

ABS Fire Retardant V0 doesn’t shrink as much as normal ABS, however, it produces more unpleasant odors therefore a closed chamber in a well-ventilated area is highly advised. Since it prints at relatively high temperatures, using a full metal hot end is also recommended.
Precise mechanical winding and thorough inspection ensure that the filaments do not tangle. Each spool is vacuum-packed with a desiccant within 5 minutes of production, ensuring long-lasting quality. The filament contains no recycled material, ensuring a stable diameter of 1.75mm +/- 0.03 mm and minimal ovality.
ABS FR V0 filament can be printed at high temperatures, so using an all-metal hot end is advisable. The material also produces very bad odors therefore an enclosed printing chamber is a must and an air filtration system is recommended. ABS FR V0 boasts the same chemical resistance as normal ABS making it resistant to acids, bases, oils, fats, and hydrocarbon compounds. Good impact strength, durability and hardness coupled with its fire retardant properties make it the perfect choice for housings and mechanical components that could be exposed to flames or potential fire hazards.

ABS is also known for its ease of post-processing with acetone vapors, which dissolve ABS. This gives the product a shiny, smooth surface. ABS can also be sanded and polished. After being printed without additional processing, the product's surface is matte.
Store 3DTrcek ABS filament in a dry, dark place in an airtight bag with a desiccant at temperatures between 0℃ and 40℃. ABS absorbs moisture but is not as sensitive as PET-G during printing. After extended storage we recommend drying it in a filament dryer at 60℃ for 4-8 hours before use.

We use the same settings for printing both ABS FR V0 and regular ABS, but we advise you to adjust the settings for your printer. Since the filament emits unpleasant odors during printing, the use of a closed chamber is recommended. It warps less than regular ABS, but it can still detach from the build plate. You can prevent this by using the brim function and designing models with rounded edges, as they better distribute the shrinkage forces.

Yes, the filaments are compatible with all popular FDM printers and the Bambu Lab AMS system.
Because of the gasses that are emitted while printing we DO NOT RECOMMEND using open printers for Fire Retardant filaments.
We currently do not have the technology for recycling, but we are working to make this possible in the near future.
