Popular among thousands of creators for its reliable quality. Made in Slovenia, with over 10 years of experience in 3D filament manufacturing and 45 years in plastic processing. ABS filament is an excellent choice when you need good mechanical properties for products that will not be exposed to UV rays.
ABS is a three-part polymer composed of acrylonitrile, butadiene, and styrene. Acrylonitrile provides the material with rigidity, and hardness, as well as chemical and temperature resistance. Butadiene enhances toughness at low temperatures and impact strength. Styrene contributes to the materials mechanical resistance, rigidity, and hardness. These properties make it an excellent choice for products ranging from toys to mechanical elements where thermal resistance is important.
Due to shrinking during cooling, it is recommended to use a printer with an enclosed chamber for printing ABS filaments. As it prints at a relatively high temperature, a full-metal hot end is recommended. For better results, a heated chamber is also advisable but not necessary. ABS is known for emitting unpleasant fumes during printing, so the printer should be placed in a well-ventilated area or equipped with an air filtration system.
Precise mechanical winding and thorough inspection ensure that the filaments do not tangle. Each spool is vacuum-packed with a desiccant within 5 minutes of production, ensuring long-lasting quality. The filament contains no recycled material, ensuring a stable diameter of 1.75mm +/- 0.03 mm and minimal ovality.
ABS filament is printed at high temperatures, so the use of a full-metal hot end is recommended. As material tends to warp an enclosed chamber is recommended. An alternative solution is our ABS Plus filament, which provides an easter printing experience. With over 10 years of experience in developing 3D filaments, 3DTrcek produces only the best ABS filaments, ensuring excellent results on all popular FDM printers such as Bambu Lab, Creality, Prusa, Anycubic, Elegoo, etc.
Due to its good resistance to acids, bases, oils, fats, and hydrocarbon compounds, ABS is a suitable material for industrial 3D printing applications. It is characterized by improved strength, hardness, and impact resistance compared to PLA and PET-G filaments making it a good choice for products exposed to mechanical stress. ABS also boasts good thermal resistance, as it does not deform up to 100℃.

ABS is also known for its ease of post-processing with acetone vapors, which dissolve ABS. This gives the product a shiny, smooth surface. ABS can also be sanded and polished. After being printed without additional processing, the product's surface is matte.
Store 3DTrcek ABS filament in a dry, dark place in an airtight bag with a desiccant at temperatures between 0℃ and 40℃. ABS absorbs moisture but is not as sensitive as PET-G during printing. After extended storage we recommend drying it in a filament dryer at 60℃ for 4-8 hours before use.

Due to its high printing temperature and the possibility of warping during cooling, ABS is considered to be quite a demanding material to print with. It is recommended to use a full-metal hot end and an enclosed chamber. You can mitigate warping and detaching from the print bed by using the brim function and designing models with rounded edges, as these better distribute forces during shrinking. Due to the unpleasant fumes released during printing, it is advisable to use an air filtration system.

Yes, the filaments are compatible with all popular FDM printers and the Bambu Lab AMS system.
It is difficult because ABS is very sensitive to temperature changes during cooling. In a pinch, you can cover the printer with a box, but we recommend ABS Plus filament, which has better printing properties, for open printers.
We currently do not have the technology for recycling, but we are working to make this possible in the near future.
