Popular among thousands of creators for its reliable quality. Made in Slovenia, with over 10 years of experience in 3D filament manufacturing and 45 years in plastic processing. ASA filament is a technological upgrade to ABS filaments, as it maintains good mechanical properties while also being UV resistant.
3DTrcek ASA filament boasts exceptional impact strength, toughness, tensile strenght, and hardness. These properties make it an excellent choice for products ranging from toys to mechanical parts where thermal resistance is important. The advantage of ASA filament over ABS is its UV resistance, making it suitable for mechanically stressed products that are going to be exposed to sunlight.
Due to shrinking during cooling, it is recommended to use an enclosed chamber when printing with ASA filaments. As it prints at high temperatures, a full-metal hot end is also recommended. Like ABS, ASA filaments emit unpleasant fumes during printing, so it is advisable to print in a well ventilated area.
Precise mechanical winding and thorough inspection ensure that the filaments do not tangle. Each spool is vacuum-packed with a desiccant within 5 minutes of production, ensuring long-lasting quality. The filament contains no recycled material, ensuring a stable diameter of 1.75mm +/- 0.03 mm and minimal ovality.
ASA filament can be printed at high temperatures, so it is recommended to use a full-metal hot end and due to warping, an enclosed chamber is advisable. An alternative solution is our ASA Plus filament, which possesses better printing characteristics. With over 10 years of experience in developing 3D filaments, 3DTrcek produces only the best ASA filaments, ensuring excellent results on all popular FDM printers such as Bambu Lab, Creality, Prusa, Anycubic, Elegoo, etc.
ASA filament is resistant to acids, bases, oils, fats, and hydrocarbon compounds, making it suitable for products exposed to these substances. It is also UV resistant, so it can be used in the sun without the materials mechanical properties deteriorating. It boasts excellent impact strength and high toughness, rigidity, and hardness. These properties make the material suitable for products that experience mechanical loads. ASA also boasts good thermal resistance, as it does not deform up to 94℃.

Like ABS, ASA can be successfully processed with acetone vapors, which dissolve the material, giving the products a shiny smooth surface. ASA can also be sanded and polished. Products have a matte surface after printing without additional processing.
Store 3DTrcek ASA filament in a dry, dark place in an airtight bag with a desiccant at temperatures between 0℃ and 40℃. ASA absorbs moisture but is not as sensitive to it during printing as PET-G. After extended storage we recommend drying it in a filament dryer at 60℃ for 4-8 hours before use.
Available in 50g, 400g, 800g, 2,1kg, 5kg, and 10kg spools. Contact us at [email protected] for orders of the larger spools in specific colors.

Due to its high printing temperature and the possibility of warping during cooling ASA is considered to be quite a demanding material to print with. It is recommended to use a full-metal hot end and an enclosed chamber. You can mitigate warping and detaching from the print bed by using the brim function and designing models with rounded edges, as these better distribute forces during shrinking. Due to the unpleasant fumes released during printing, an air filtration system or gas venting is recommended.

Yes, the filaments are compatible with all popular FDM printers and the Bambu Lab AMS system.
ASA can significantly shrink during uneven cooling, making it difficult to print on open printers. You can try covering the printer with a box, but we recommend using ASA Plus filament for open printers.
We currently do not have the technology for recycling, but we are working to make this possible in the near future.
